AYANEO has been making handheld gaming systems for nearly five years, and while the company’s products are generally pretty well received when it comes to performance and design, they also tend to be expensive products that may be out of reach for some.
So this year the company is launching a new KONKR sub-brand for lower-cost hardware that still has some premium features. As expected, two of the first models to launch are the KONKR Pocket FIT and KONKR Pocket FIT Elite handhelds with ARM-based processors and Android-based operating systems. Retail prices will start at $299 and $329, respectively. But they’re both available at discounts during an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign that kicks off today.
Prices during crowdfunding start as low as $239 and $269 for folks who back the campaign within the first seven days.
What sets the KONKR Pocket FIT and Pocket FIT Elite apart from one another are the processors and a few other key specs.
The Pocket FIT has a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processor, support for up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and Bluetooth 5.3 support. It ships with Android 14.
The Pocket FIT Elite, meanwhile, has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, support for up to 24GB of RAM, Bluetooth 6.0 support, and Android 16 software.
Otherwise both systems are pretty much identical. They each have a 6 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel, 144 Hz LCD display, an 8,000 mAh battery, LPDDR5x memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, or UFS 4.0 storage for configurations with 256GB or more.
Ports include a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps) port, a microSD card reader (100MB/s) and a 3.5mm audio jack.
And both models have fans for active cooling, game controllers with hall-effect joysticks and triggers, 6-axis gyroscope sensors and dual X-axis linear motors.
