Davonne Reaves Breaks New Ground in Commercial Real Estate

*Davonne Reaves has officially changed the real estate game. The founder and CEO of Vesterr, she’s raised more than $2.7 million through her SEC-regulated crowdfunding platform since its 2022 launch.

Vesterr is the first Black woman–owned portal of its kind, focused on commercial real estate and hospitality. It gives everyday investors access to deals once reserved for the wealthy elite.

From Hotel Front Desk to Industry Pioneer

Reaves’ journey started behind a hotel front desk—but she didn’t stay there long. She climbed the ladder and became one of the youngest Black women to co-own a major hotel franchise.

That experience exposed her to how few hotels are Black-owned—just 1% in the U.S. So she created Vesterr to fix that.

Vesterr allows both accredited and non-accredited investors to buy into large commercial deals with low minimums. That means no Ivy League connections or $250K buy-ins required.

$2.7M Raised—and It’s Already Funding Real Projects

The capital raised through Vesterr is already working. Projects funded include:

  • Two hotel acquisitions
  • A hotel development in Puerto Rico
  • A car wash development
  • A specialized hotel investment fund

Each project shows how Reaves’ vision is putting real money into real deals—with real impact.

VesterrCon: Where Crowdfunding Meets Shark Tank Energy

In 2025, Reaves took things further with the first VesterrCon at Howard University. The live investor event, backed by Marriott and B Hospitality, gave founders the chance to pitch real estate deals in person.

The result? Six figures raised, a hotel project fully funded, and dozens of new investors activated—right on the spot.
