Kolkata: Jadavpur University has appealed for funds from the alumni, faculty and students for the treatment of a former student of comparative literature, who is currently undergoing damage care surgeries and treatment at a private hospital, to control further infections, repair her multiple fractures, colon rupture and internal organs dislocation.
Sreejani Ghosh, who passed out from JU in 2023, suffered severe injuries in an accident on April 14. Ghosh’s teachers and classmates have already started collecting funds for her treatment as her family is facing immense financial strain. A teacher said they have already raised around Rs 8 lakh, but there is a long way to go to support the alumni. The funds are being raised through a crowdfunding platform.
