Nearly 6 months ago, budding tech startups gathered at the W Loft to showcase their visions to a discerning audience of over 100 VCs, angel investors, founders, and fellow entrepreneurs. Hosted by Crown Ventures Accelerator, the first-ever business accelerator for frum startups in the United States, the Demo Day was a critical moment in deciding the future of tech innovators within the community.
Among them stood a rising star. Hatch is a vital fundraising tool, blending AI and 3rd party data enrichment, that is rapidly gaining popularity within the nonprofit sector as well as Chabad Houses.
Fast forward to today, and Hatch AI has just completed a successful seed funding round, securing $3 million in investment. Propelled by Demo Day, during which Hatch landed its first investor for this round, the startup continued to receive the attention of notable VCs in the ensuing months.
Led by Differential Ventures, the recent seed funding round included participation from Character, venture capitalist Howard Morgan, and a group of prominent angel investors. Previous investors included David Magerman, Tiferes Ventures, and Adam Miller, founder of Cornerstone OnDemand.
This success follows previous funding rounds totaling $2 million, bringing the total to $5 million raised.
“It’s been incredibly exciting having Hatch in our second cohort,” shares Yehoshua Werde, founder of Crown Ventures Accelerator. “Their success proves what frum tech startups are capable of if they just get that extra support. We’re so proud of them and are looking forward to their upward trajectory!”
As the first-of-its-kind Giving Intelligence Platform, Hatch provides organizations with new information on the majority of the donors in their database, creating a ‘complete human profile’. By analyzing over 80 curated data points collected from various public sources, Hatch enables organizations to generate personalized engagement strategies tailored to the capabilities, preferences, and interests of their supporters.
This allows nonprofits to finally see the bigger picture of what motivates their supporters. To date, Hatch has already partnered with 150 nonprofits across North America, such as Volunteers of America, and Texas A&M University-Commerce, helping them increase their donations by thousands.
“Hatch has completely transformed the way I fundraise, and I’ve already raised thousands of dollars using the platform” shares Rabbi Chaim Levi Cohen from Chabad of Loudoun County, VA. “I simply never meet with a donor without checking Hatch first.”
Moshe Hecht, founder and CEO of Hatch, previously served as the CIO of the popular crowdfunding platform Charidy, which facilitated over $3 billion in donations for over 8,000 nonprofits. Drawing on this extensive experience, Hecht identified a crucial need in the fundraising landscape, prompting him to launch Hatch in 2021:
“It became abundantly clear to me that the biggest gap that charities have is not leveraging the breadth of data available to accurately engage and monetize their existing donors. Now, with Hatch, nonprofits have the opportunity to tap into the psyche of what motivates their donors to “tick, click, and give.”
